DISASTER RISK REDUCTION (DRR)
It aims to reduce socio-economic-vulnerabilities to disaster as well as dealing with the environmental and other hazards. Disaster risk reduction is the responsibility of development and relief agencies alike. It should be an integral part of the way such organization do their work, not an add-on or one-off action. Disaster risk is an indicator of poor development, so reducing disaster risk requires integrating DRR policy into the sustainable development goals. We need to manage risks, not just disaster. Like for example other villages have adapted the design of houses to protect people from rising flood waters. And a small boats are used to transport people and food to sustain livelihoods. This kind of disaster risk reduction is helpful for us to avoid danger.
It is very important also to a student to know DRR for them to be aware and trained well and to share their knowledge about DRR to their families and to the community so that everybody is aware in any calamity that we will be encounter. And also to a future teacher to be more ready for disasters that will come, awareness, education, preparedness, prediction and warning systems can reduce the disruptive impacts of a natural disaster on communities and in schools
